Recently my passenger door has failed to lock. If one set of switches can control the windows it s likely the switch on the opposing side that needs to be replaced. Vw golf 1 6fsi mk5 2005 3dr passenger door won t lock. Possible you left the electrical connector loose.

I would double check it. The windows work off the passenger side switch but not the drivers side or vice versa. Ive read some other posts and i think its a reasonably common issue for the locking mechanism to go. If the lock slowly started to lose power speed locking and locking or would stop working intermittently and start again the motor actuator is most likely to blame.

The main issue has been not locking and once locked the only way to unlock is from inside by pulling the handle twice. You can pick them up off ebay. Nick at pelican parts. June 29 2017.

Not as bad as it sounds. I replaced a lock mechanism on a 2005 golf and it will not operate to allow for the door to now open. 1995 vw golf tdi the central locking stopped working on the driver s door a couple of weeks ago but worked ok from the passenger door. What s new 3 12 24 72.

Now it won t lock from the passenger side either. My profile my preferences my mates. Does the lock need to be reset by the cars computer. But once the driver door which is the only door that unlocks with the central locking is open if i press the unlock door button the passenger doors unlock and open.

Sounds like it probably wants a new door lock module. Mk5 gti central locking stopped unlocking passenger doors. Help i can read more. Now i cannot get it to lock at all.
