The original blueprints for the home will tell you which walls are load bearing and which ones are not.

Once you ve reached your house s lowest point look for walls whose beams go directly into the concrete foundation.

You should see this at the foundation level whether wood.
However there are cases where a bearing wall is parallel to the joists.
Any walls beneath these beams are probably also load bearing.
Check your ceiling take a look at your ceiling to identify any load bearing beams that run across the house.
If a wall is marked as s in the blueprint this means structural thus showing it s a load bearing wall.
But if the wall runs perpendicular at a 90 degree angle to the joists there is a good chance that it is load bearing.
Additionally most home s exterior walls are load bearing.
